CLOSE TO YOU, a digitally-animated and livestreamed operatic visual album, centers on the song “They Long to Be (Close to You).” The project’s narrative focuses on a community of 55 androgynous characters, named DRIFTERS, each presenting longing queer love in reimagined karaoke covers of the song.
